Scuba Fins

Scuba fins are the primary means of propulsion for the diver. They are typically found in either a full-foot or open-heel design. Much like a scuba mask, fins are available in many different styles, and as such most experts recommend trying several before purchasing a specific model.

Differing scuba fins can have vastly different characteristics. They can be designed for maneuverability, speed, power, or varying combinations. An even distribution of these characteristics is recommended for beginning divers.

There are a number of things to take into consideration when shopping for scuba fins. The most important aspect is comfort, as an uncomfortable fin can ruin an otherwise great diving experience. Another important consideration is performance, with the ideal fin allowing your to swim with a minimal amount of effort.
